Your computer, in your pocket.
Browse files, use git, run a terminal and open your dev servers from your iPhone, with one command: npx coderemote up. End-to-end encrypted. No SSH keys, no port forwarding, no VPN.
One command. That's the whole setup.
Other tools ask you to download a desktop app, set up a VPN on both devices, or configure an SSH server and keys. With Node.js already on your computer, Code Remote is a single line.
npx coderemote up
No desktop app
Nothing to download, install or keep updated on the computer. npx runs it and leaves nothing behind.
No VPN
The agent connects outward through a private tunnel, end-to-end encrypted. Nothing to install on the phone's network, nothing to join.
No SSH
No server to enable, no keys to copy, no ports to forward, no firewall rules to edit.

Install on your computer.
macOS and Linux
Paste it into Terminal. No Node.js? It downloads one for coderemote alone.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CodeRemoteApp/coderemote/main/install.sh | sh
Windows
Paste it into PowerShell on Windows 10 or 11. No Node.js? It downloads one for coderemote alone.

npm
On any system with Node.js 22 or newer.
npm install -g coderemote
Homebrew
On macOS and Linux.
brew install coderemoteapp/tap/coderemote
Prefer a permanent install? Then run coderemote up in a project folder and scan the QR code with your iPhone (ask for a beta invite to get the app on TestFlight). Updating, uninstalling and the rest are in the setup guide.
Join the iPhone beta.
The iPhone app is in beta on TestFlight. Leave your email and we'll invite you as soon as the first build is ready. The invite comes from Apple's TestFlight; open it on your iPhone.
Everything you need to keep working.
Files
Browse, open, edit, create, rename and delete files in the folder you share.
Git
See changes and diffs, stage, commit, pull, push and read history, across every repository in the folder.
Terminal
A real shell (PowerShell on Windows) with a key bar for Ctrl, Tab, Esc and arrows. Sessions keep running while your phone sleeps, so long builds and coding agents survive.
Ports
See which servers are listening, which terminal started them, and stop the one that's stuck on port 3000.
Preview & share
Open your dev server on the phone with a tap, through its own private tunnel. Need a second opinion? Share a public link that ends after an hour or a day.
Requests
Watch every request that reaches your dev server, with headers and bodies. Filter by type or path, and let your coding agent read them from the terminal.
Private by design.
No servers of ours
Your phone talks to your computer. Code Remote runs no backend and has no accounts.
Nothing collected
The app and the CLI have no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your files and commands never reach us.
Open source
The computer side is free software under the AGPL. Read every line on GitHub.
End-to-end encrypted
The QR code carries your computer's key. Phone and computer encrypt everything between them, so the tunnel's relay only ever forwards ciphertext.
A key per phone
Each iPhone keeps its own key in its Secure Enclave. Remove one from the computer with a single command, and the others carry on.
Face ID for commands
Opening a terminal or starting a coding agent asks for Face ID first. You choose how strict, and for how long one check lasts, per computer.
