Code Remote

These terms apply to the Code Remote iPhone app (the "App") and the coderemote command-line tool (the "CLI"), together "Code Remote", made by Thanh Tran ("we", "us"). By using Code Remote you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Code Remote.

1. What Code Remote does

Code Remote lets you use a computer from your iPhone: browse and edit files, use git and run a terminal in a folder you choose to share. The CLI runs on your computer; the App connects to it through Microsoft Dev Tunnels.

2. The App

If you got the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") applies, and these terms add to it. If they conflict, the Standard EULA wins. We, not Apple, are responsible for the App and for any support or claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

The App's name, icon and source code are not open source. You may not copy, modify, redistribute or reverse engineer the App, except as the law allows.

3. Code Remote Pro

The App is free to use. Code Remote Pro ("Pro") is an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks more of the App, such as pairing more than one computer or more than five shared folders (up to ten in all), previewing more than one port at a time, the HTTP request inspector and public share links. The App shows what Pro includes and its price before you buy.

4. The CLI

The CLI is free software, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later. That license governs your use, copying and modification of the CLI's code. The name "Code Remote" and its icon are trademarks, covered by the trademark policy.

5. Your responsibilities

Code Remote gives a phone real access to a computer, including a shell with your user's permissions. You agree that:

6. Third-party services

Code Remote depends on services we don't control, mainly Microsoft Dev Tunnels and GitHub or Microsoft sign-in. Your use of them is subject to their own terms, such as the Microsoft Services Agreement and GitHub Terms of Service. We aren't responsible for their availability, limits or changes, and Code Remote may stop working if they change.

7. Privacy

Code Remote collects no personal data. See the Privacy Policy.

8. No warranty

Code Remote is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that it won't lose or damage data. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, code, profits or business, arising from your use of Code Remote, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim about Code Remote is limited to the amount you paid for the App and Code Remote Pro, if any.

10. Changes and termination

We may update Code Remote and these terms. We'll post changes on this page and update the effective date; continuing to use Code Remote after that means you accept them. You can stop using Code Remote at any time by deleting the App and uninstalling the CLI.
